This poetry thing is a killer. I have never understood it. And then I wrote a book with almost 70 poems LOL. But I am not at all a believer of it being something that can just be done every day. Like Edgar Allen Poe claiming that he had it down like a science. He did some great stuff, but not all of it was blockbuster material. Sure people can construct word compositions in stanzas using some metric and rhythm but that's only one type of writing. Poetry itself, in its essential state is transcendental. It is insightful and many times uplifting or empowering. That's why some people will tell others, why are you writing poetry? You're not an oppressed individual. Who knows. Maybe I just never studied poetry enough to know how to write it without inspiration. As things stand today, I am either inspired therefore I create poetry, or I am not and I just go about my normal person duties. Ahh, where is my muse? Where has my avian angel gone to roost? In the clouds or atop the tallest trees upon the highest mountains? Regardless, she is a ghost. My hands bear emptyness. And in my chest an absence of my heart. And in my mind the preocupation with hope and poetry...;)
