Do you have a few minutes to listen to something useful? Sure you do. Or you will. And if you think you don't have the time or cannot make the time to listen to this message, then...listen to this message to learn of possible ways to make time to learn new things when you think you have no time to spare.
I must have sounded a bit repetitive in the past lines with references to "time" but it's crucial that I get the message across to as many people as I can. I want to help others bring out their inner fluid self. That self that is not confined to a singular way of looking at things. That's what this is about. So now that you are privy to the content, take a listen and I welcome your input at the bottom in the comment section. Talk soon. In the mean time, click to listen:
Watch this talk show-style interview of part of the cast of the digital series "Who Shot Me."
I interview Myrna Primeaux, Pete Mendoza, and Joseph Campos. We talk about their backgrounds, experience, and reveal the date of release for Episode 5...
I talk about haters because sometimes we all feel like we want to hate on someone else because their progress reflects something on us that we don't like. It's normal to feel like you are being left behind. But that is no one else's doing but the individual who feels that. Usually it is a feeling produced by our own fears and self-doubt that keeps us from taking action to make things happen for ourselves. So when someone else takes action we are seeing them exhibit the courage we wish we possessed to do the same. But in the end it comes down to one choice: will you be a hater or a builder? Hating on others' success to mitigate your feelings of inadequacy or building up those who are taking action and thereby joining that positive vibration that will inspire you to have the courage to take action for yourself?
Who in their right mind would have ever thought that a person who's most notable credentials were being rich and being a reality TV star could enter the presidential race and get so incredibly close to winning that even people from his own party are running for the hills in horror?
No one, that's who. But we need not look at this reality we are currently witnessing as an unbelievable shocker. We need to study it and dissect it. Of course, it is much more complex, but to a degree the distinguishing aspect is this: taking action. Regardless of your politics and who you are voting for, this is a solid rule: When you aspire to big things you take risks in order to achieve them. There is just no way around that equation. (Short cuts always come with huge, often unwanted, caveats.) This very factor alone explains the success of the current Republican candidate who shall not be named. He gambled on the bit for the presidency and the gamble seems to be paying off. I say this because in spite of his campaign being an overt disaster, having entered the race elevates his brand, therefore, win or lose, he still cashes in. And that is what it's ultimately all about. Pay day. At Fluid Chicano Films, The Fluid Chicano website, and all other projects related, the driving motivation is taking action. But not just on the spur of the moment, reactionary, and unfocused action. I mean goal-minded steps toward a certain envisioned future...a destiny. Last year I began the "Who Shot Me" project with this purpose in mind. To demonstrate first to myself and then to any other who is searching for examples, that whatever it is that exists in one's mind can be brought to reality. That excuses centered around the idea that you need more education, or more talent, or more equipment, or more money in order to feel comfortable to step in and take action is a loser's mentality. That only risk-takers stand to gain. Because no one who sits on the sidelines wins a game. No runner sitting on the bleachers wins a race. And no one who hides behind excuses in order to stay in their comfort zone will ever realize their dreams. So with that in mind, go forth and break free. Make break-throughs. Enter the race. Any race. Start something and don't let anything, not even failure, defeat you. (Oh yeah, and stay tuned for Episode 5 coming "soon.") :) |
